Hi Jon,
It’s a good idea to flip the mentality a bit, I agree, and just as you said/wrote in your free 7 day course about the mental state, plus all the chemical processes that occur in the body due to depression and negative thoughts that may hinder progress, take inventory over what you already got can be a good place to start in order to get the “happy juices” flowing.
But. Why only think about fitness initially, I think tremendous power can come from just thinking, “hey, I’ve got a nice girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband/kids”, maybe you have food for the day, maybe even the comfort of a home, these are things to treasure and value as well but that we may overlook cause we take them for granted. By starting with the basics that might elevate the positive thinking and the motiviation to keep going with the things that one may feel needs a little alteration within the fitness area. Just get the positive snowball rolling!
Thanks for all the good content that you keep supplying us with!

Hi, Jon:
I loved the video. You are right. It’s funny how your mind can come up with a lot of answers to the negative part of that question and how a lot of people sometimes have a hard time coming up with answers to this question.
What’s right with me? I am a strong willed person, I have great health, I am very smart, I have strong legs, etc. How’s that for a start!
Love ya and keep up the good work.

Well this came at a great time! When all I was thinking about was all the thing I didn’t like about by body. It was such a good reminder that we have to be constantly aware of how we are thinking.
Thanks.

Jon,
Only two days in and I am already diggin’ the video idea.
I do have a random question for you though…
I wanted to get your thoughts on Vitamin Water 10, that low calorie Vit Water stuff. I have known about it for awhile now, but was officially introduced to it earlier this week. As a struggling diet soda addict, I am wondering if this is a reasonable substitute. I looked at the ingredient list and even though it has some calories, in my amateur opinion, it seems like a decent flavored beverage.
Keep up the good work. It is certainly appreciated.
Jason
Jon says:
If you are a struggling diet soda addict, then Vitawater (different names) is a good sub in my opinion. But eventually you’ll need to get to 90% water, 10% soda. I do not think 10% soda will kill anyone, but then again I’m not a purist.
However, if that 10% is ‘addiction-forming’, then you have to be careful. Thanks Jayson!

The hardest part of changing the way that we look is changing the way that we see ourselves… It doesn’t matter what anyone else has to say “you look just wonderful”, “are you losing weight?” What’s in our own head drives us to success or to failure.Thank you for reminding us all that we aren’t a mess, but that we’re just focusing on the wrong things, not a message that is heard enough or in some cases sadly not at all.
Jon says:
Totally true… and I’m guilty of that quite frequently. It’s odd — I think I’m in ‘great’ shape and someone sees me out-of-shape (for me) and says, “Did you lose fat man?” It can drive you bonkers. But you have to just keep focused on the reasons why YOU are doing this, not on the images others project upon you.
Elizabeth says:
Hi Jon - nice to “see” you again. Somehow you managed to be photogenic even with your hair sticking out and your messages are obviously from your heart. I love the way you present ~ as if you’re talking to me personally, rather than talking to a group of us.
Keep up the good work.
Jon says:
Ha! Elizabeth, my hair has always stuck out — it’s the style babe.. ; ) I will always stick to that style of video as well: I want to be the guy speaking to you over coffee rather than screaming at you from over a bench press. There’s enough of that on YouTube as-is.

Hi Jon! I just joined but have been back on the get healthy and sexy wagon for several months now. This is a great question. What’s right with me is I have great calves and I have more energy than my 16 year old son. I am learning to love who I am and for the body that I have.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo
